An AI innovation that places your portrait into iconic PolyU campus backgrounds with professional artistic styling—tailored to your photo, location, and creative vision.

  • Developed by our expert team from the Dept. of Computing at PolyU, as part of the PolySmart intelligent-space ecosystem.
  • Integrates Generative AI for Images (Seedream 5.0), Computer Vision (face-aware compositing, lighting harmonization), interactive web UI, queue-based generation, QR-code mobile sharing, and email delivery.
  • The prototype runs as a guided step-by-step web demo in the Smart Space; visitors upload a selfie, pick a campus scene and art style, and receive a high-resolution AI photo in about one minute.

What can PolySmart Persona do?

PolySmart Persona offers a five-step creative workflow on one platform: upload your portrait, choose where you appear on campus, pick an artistic look, optionally add a custom description, then generate, download, scan, or email your personalized image.

1. Upload Your Photo

Start with a favorite portrait—the system preserves your facial identity while transforming the scene and artistic rendering around you.

2. Select Your PolyU Background

Choose from eight iconic PolyU locations—from the Jockey Club Innovation Tower and P504 Student Lab (RC-DSAI) to the Great Lawn, Clock Square, Library, and Garden Restaurant. The AI places you naturally into the scene with matched lighting and perspective.

3. Choose Your Artistic Style

Transform your photo with twelve curated styles—from Cyberpunk and Studio Ghibli to Van Gogh oil painting, watercolor, Japanese anime, magazine cover, and vintage film.

4. Customize & Generate

Optionally add a natural-language description for extra creative direction, then generate your personalized image. A queue system keeps the Smart Space demo smooth when many visitors are creating photos at once.

5. Download, Share & Explore

Download your high-resolution image on the kiosk, scan a QR code to save it on your phone, email it to yourself, or browse the community Persona Gallery of past creations.
